ISO9001 – what is it?
It is the international reference standard developed by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and recognized for the quality management of any organization that intends to respond simultaneously:
– the need to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of internal processes – as an organizational tool to achieve one’s goals;
– the growing competitiveness in the markets through the improvement of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
This standard is aimed at any type of public or private organization, of any sector and size, manufacturing or services.
How to get ISO 9001 certified?
ISO has developed and published the ISO 9001 standard, but does not carry out any auditing or certification activities. These activities are in fact carried out by the Certification Bodies, independently from the ISO. The latter does not control these bodies, but develops international voluntary standards to promote good practices in the conduct of auditing and certification activities on a global basis (for example, ISO / IEC 17021 specifies the requirements for bodies providing services audit and certification of management systems).
Results of certifications according to ISO 9001 issued under accreditation. ISO 9001 certification is used in both private and public sectors to increase trust in the products and services provided by companies, between business partners in business-to-business relationships, in the choice of suppliers in supply chains and in the selection of participants in public notices.
