The reports of accidents at work presented between January and October were 595. 569, 909 of which with a fatal outcome. – In the ” Open data” section of the Inail website, the analytical data of the reports of accidents – overall and with a fatal outcome – and occupational diseases submitted to the Institute by the month of October are available. To quantify the phenomenon, including the cases positively ascertained by the Institute, it will therefore be necessary to wait for the consolidation of the data for the entire 2022, with the conclusion of the administrative and health process relating to each complaint. The comparison between the first 10 months 2021-2022 could prove to be unreliable compared to the trend that will emerge in the coming months. For a more indicative analysis of the accident trend, in fact, it will be necessary to wait a longer period of time,
also to take into account any delays in accident reports, in particular those with a fatal outcome and contagion from Covid-19. That said, in the first 10 months of 2022 there was a marked increase in reports of accidents overall, a decrease in fatal ones and an increase in occupational diseases. The reports of accidents at work submitted to Inail by last October were 595. 569, up 32.9% from 448. 110 of the first 10 months of 2021 .
The data collected at 31 October of each year show at national level for the first 10 months of 2022 an increase compared to the same period of 2021 and in cases occurred during work, which went from 385. 707 of 2021 to 522. 147 of 2022, and those in itinere, that is, occurred in the round trip between home and work, which recorded an increase of 17.7%, from 62. 403 to 73. 422. Last October, the number of accidents at work reported was +31.3% in Industry and Services management, -3.2% in Agriculture and +64.4% in the State Account. The increase that emerges from the comparison of the period between 2021 and 2022 is linked both to the female component, which records a + 54.3%, and to the male component, which presents a + 21.1%. Almost half of the cases fall into the 40-59 age group. The reports of fatal accidents at work submitted to the Institute by last October were 909, 108 fewer than 1. 017 registered in the first 10 months of 2021, synthesis of a decrease in complaints observed in the four-month period January-April and an increase between May and October, in comparison between the two years. At national level, the data collected at 31 October of each year show, despite the provisional nature of the numbers, a decrease for the first 10 months of 2022, compared to the same period of 2021, only of cases occurred during work, down from 815 to 659, due to the considerable lower weight of deaths from Covid-19, while those in progress have gone from 202 to 250. The decrease detected between the first 10 months of 2021 and 2022 is linked only to the male component, whose reported fatal cases have gone from 922 to 806, while the female component rises from 95 to 103 cases.
Complaints from Italian workers are decreasing, while those of EU and non-EU citizens are increasing. As of October 31 of this year, there were 16 reports of multiple accidents in the first 10 months, for a total of 37 deaths, all road accidents.
